Few men remain, and women seek husbands to remove disgrace. Christians will endure tribulation before Antichrist arrives and the last days begin. Jerusalem will be washed in the blood of martyrs and the remnant will hold firm to the faith.
The final line warns of “Petrus Romanus” Peter the Roman, who will “pasture his sheep in many tribulations.” After his reign, Rome will be destroyed and the dreadful Judge will judge his people. Traditionally interpreted as a prophecy concerning the persecution of the Church and the approach of the last days, not necessarily the literal last pope.
Foresees that after their death, chaos and the rise of Antichrist will follow, ending the peaceful era.
Revealed that in the last times, “all heresies will disappear” through the intercession of the Mother of God. The victory over heresy is reserved for Mary; before Christ’s Second Coming, Mary will shine more than ever, convert unbelievers, and extend Christ’s reign over all nations.
“He began and continued His miracles by Mary, and He will continue them to the end of ages by Mary.” Divine intervention and miracles will be especially seen in the last period of time through Marian devotion.
World shown as having “about two centuries left” from ca. 1798, with God knowing the exact time. Restoration of Church/peaceful age precedes reign of Antichrist and final tribulation/end.
Miraculous event “none can doubt,” wicked crushed, many convert. “A king after the Heart of God will ascend the throne… France will prosper, religion honored, peace after chastisement.” Age of happiness, then final corruption and end times.
Prophetic warnings: a comet will signify destruction and war; an eclipse “red as fire” with terrifying darkness, then persecution and devastation; finally, three days of darkness when persecutors will be destroyed and peace returns.
